our story
We know it has always been God's desire to draw everyone to Him. No people, race, or generation is left out of that plan. That's why Fusion exists. But Fusion hasn't always...umm...been Fusion. Here's our story.
In the fall of '98, 11 people began gathering together as the College and Career group of Victory World Church, under the leadership of Nathan & Lisa Camp. In '99 23S (20-30 something) was launched with Nathan & Lisa as the pastors.
God continued refining what we looked like, what we sounded like, who we attracted and what our message was until in May of 2002 Fusion was birthed. Our music & message was now specifically targeted towards the 18-30 generation.
In October of 2005 Nathan & Lisa launched out to start Fusion Church in Orlando, FL and passed the torch to Johnson & Summer Bowie who took over the call as pastors of Fusion in Atlanta.
In January 2008, Fusion followed God in a new direction, re-discovering the 4 elements of life as laid out in Acts 2:42, "All the believers devoted themselves to the Apostle's teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and prayer." It has been our dream that these 4 elements would become a reality in this community of believers and we're seeing the dream fulfilled each day.
Most recently, in December of 2011 Johnson and Summer devoted themselves to being pastors of Victory World Church at Hamilton Mill. They passed the torch to David and Amber Stephens, who are now responding to the call of being the pastors of Fusion in Atlanta.
Where will God take us next? Only the history books know.
